MIDDLEWICH BRANCH
From Barbridge Junction to the Trent & Mersey is ten miles of narrow rural canal. Barbridge is a popular spot for mooring, probably due to the close proximity of Hurlston Junction and the Llangollan Canal

Looking up the Middlewich branch in the evening light, it can be quite magical at times with the strange light just before night fall.
Plenty of mooring on this section of the canal.
An attractive lock cottage at the last lock which drops the canal down to the Trent & Mersey Canal at Middlewich.

Through the white bridge beyond the boat is the Kings Lock. The pub the Kings Arms is above the bridge, very popular in the summer time with folk watching the boats locking through.
RED BULL LOCKS.
The Macclesfield Canal leaves the Trent & Mersey a little way to the right, around the bend at the top of the photo.Thsi picture is taken from the aqueduct that takes the Macclesfield Canal over the the Trent & Mersey at this point.
