RIVERS' HUMBER, OUSE, DERWENT, URE. and the RIPON CANAL
LOUTH NAVIGATION
HUMBER BRIDGE.
The span of the bridge is longer than that of the Golden Gate Bridge, in San Francisco.
This navigation is tidal throughout its length of 36 miles, all of the water from the canals and rivers listed above pass under this bridge.

RIVER URE
The river is navagable for about seven and a half miles, with two locks. Since the rpion canal has been restored to Ripon the navigation has seen a build up of traffic. It is lovely river navigation and Ripon makes for an interesting destination. Boroughbridge has many Roman remains and many modern day inns to wet your thirst.

RIPON CANAL
The Ripon canal has recently been restore for the whole of its lenght, it is two and a half miles with three locks, there is a sanitary station about half a mile from the Ripon end, situated at a winding hole, its also possible to turn at the end of the navigation in the town.

RIPON, END OF NAVIGATION.
As you can see from this photograph it was possible to see the Cathedral from the end of the canal, now these canalside cottage have been completed you cannot enjoy this view anymore. It shows how close you are to the centre of the town.
RIVER OUSE.
From the confluence of the Humber and Trent rivers at Trent Falls, the navigation to Ouse Gill Beck, is sixty miles and it has two locks
