Thirty miles of canal with 58 locks, only the two from the River Severn are wide beam. This canal has the well known Tardebigge flight of locks as one of its features. It also has five tunnels. From Tardebigge to Birmingham, the  fourteen miles have no locks, but there are four tunnels. A pleasent canal with plenty of moorings and pubs.
There are about five hire firms on this navigation, they are well used for this canal forms a link to the Midlands rings, the Stratford upon Avon and the Stourport. Both of these rings make use of the River Severn as part of their route.
