Built between 1776 and 1817 they are Britains oldest standing tidal mills. These monuments to our heritage deserve a visit, also the tidal creeks around them.
BROXBOURNE
At the Lee Valley boat centre its possible to hire canal boats, motor boats, rowing boats also canoes. A trip boat operates from here in the summer giving river cruises. There is also a canalside pub.
The two rivers converge at the Feilde's Weir Lock. The tow path to the River Stort crosses the bridge in the picture, then crosses the weir by a long footpath bridge.
The lock cottage at this point is very attractive.
