COVENTRY CANAL
Coventry Canal is 38 miles in length and it has 13 locks.
This photo shows how the basin in the city has been rebuilt, like most towns that have a canal the developers soon find that its a desirable place to work and play, and even to live, so it gets the all over restoration treatment. I prefer it to the old grimey wearhouses that used to surround these town wharfs. The statue is that of James Brindly, he was appointed as its first  engineer but was dismissed for spending too little time on the project.
The people who commissioned the statue probably didn't do their home work or the would have probably had Lady Godiva instead.
